History
Masseria Nucci of ancient origins was built around a Norman Byzantine sighting tower. When the military needs ended with the expulsion of the Turks from Otranto at the end of the 15th century around the structure, the farm was built as a small polis in fact inside, fortified by a dry stone wall still up to 4m high , an intense activity of breeding, dairy production and management of large areas of land cultivated with olive groves, vineyards, arable land and pastures took place, of which “lu massaru” who lived there was the manager. For some decades now with the end of traditional agriculture it has been transformed into a tourist-receptive structure, preserving all the vestiges of the past centuries.
